Ao Yun, the new Chinese wine from Estates & Wines, produced in the foothills of the Himalayas, unveils first vintage.
Ao Yun means “flying above the clouds” or “roaming above the clouds”. Our name refers to the thick, wandering clouds of the incredible region and celebrates the birthplace of the legend of Shangri-La.
We are looking for harvest interns for the 2018 vintage.
The Vineyard/Cellar interns will be expected to be committed and to be high-performing members of the team and will be responsible of the achievement of the following missions:
Support of Ao Yun estate vineyards technical operations
- As part of our harvest team, our interns will work under the direction of the Viticulturist and the Winemaker.
- The Vineyard, cellar/production interns will be assisting with winemaking from harvest through fermentation/barreling down.
- This is a very broad internship with exposure to many aspects of winemaking and production, including but not limited to: vineyard sampling, grape reception and processing, indigenous fermentation management, equipment operation and sanitation.
- Candidates should be highly motivated, willing to work flexible schedule with extended hours
- This position will be open from Jan 1st through mid-December depending on growth and harvest conditions.
Education:
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Viticulture or related sciences.
- Languages:
- English fluent, Chinese is a real plus
- Professional experience & know how:
- Previous harvest experience is a plus.
- Computer skills including database management, spreadsheets, word processing.
- Good organizational skills, proactivity, curiosity and a focus for quality.
- Effective communication skills
- Passionate about wine production
- Ability to perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company’s value of exhibiting the highest quality standards in all endeavors.
