Company Overview:

Our client is a Bordeaux based wine merchant company that specializes in offering high-quality fine wines and Grands Crus Classés wines to our customers. We are looking for a China Sales Representative to join our client company and to help grow their business in China.

Job Description:

The China Sales Representative will be responsible for managing the sales of fine wines that come from the top wine regions of France (Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhône Valley), Italy and US. Fine wines list includes Grands Crus Classés wines from Bordeaux. The main responsibilities of this role include:

• Business Development: Identifying and developing new business opportunities in China. This includes researching potential new clients and working with existing clients to increase sales.
• Maintaining Existing Clients: Developing and maintaining relationships with reliable existing clients, ensuring that their wine needs are met and that they receive exceptional customer service.
• Sales: Meeting or exceeding sales targets by working with clients to understand their wine needs and recommending appropriate products.
• Participating in Wine Events: Organizing and participating in wine events, tastings, and exhibitions in China. This includes representing the company at events and promoting our products to potential clients.
• Market research: conducting research to identify potential customers, monitoring industry trends, analyzing consumer behavior, and gathering data to develop effective sales strategies for promoting and selling fine wines in the Chinese market.
• Reporting: Providing regular reports on sales, market trends, and customer feedback to the management team.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in the industry in China.
• Bachelors or higher degree.
• Good knowledge of Grands Crus Classés wines from Bordeaux.
• Sales experience: Demonstrated experience in sales or business development.
• Self-driven: The ability to work independently and be proactive in developing new business opportunities, ability to work remote.
• Commercial-oriented: The ability to understand the needs of clients and to recommend appropriate products.
• Organizational skills: The ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Fluent in English: The ability to communicate fluently in English is essential.
• Chinese language skills: Proficiency in Mandarin is essential, Cantonese is a plus.
• French language is a plus.
• Wine qualifications: A WSET Level 3 or higher qualification in wine is preferred but not essential.
